26 VW was designed for a couple looking for a simpler approach to life at home.  A duck pond to the north and the long south side-yard significantly influenced the layout and form of the dwelling. Aspects of universal design were also incorporated; giving the home owner more freedom to “age in place.”  With a strong connection to the outdoors, large open spaces were provided on a single level.  Many sustainable design strategies were implemented including passive solar design, highly efficient variable air speed HVAC system, and water reclamation.
